What Zerion is
Zerion is a non-custodial DeFi wallet and portfolio tracker supporting 50+ blockchain networks, built for both crypto newcomers and experienced DeFi users who want a powerful all-in-one tool.
Grow Zerion’s user base by making it accessible to newcomers without losing experienced users.
Technical terminology, no onboarding guidance, and information overload push new users away before they complete a single action.

🔧 From prototype to final design
Four decisions that mattered
Consolidated the “Send” flow from 3 screens to 1
The prototype split the send flow across three separate screens, leaving users unsure of how many steps remained. In the final design, all steps are combined on one screen with numbered indicators.
Removed manual network selection
The prototype required manual network selection — a technical detail most newcomers don’t understand. In the final design, the network is detected automatically based on the recipient address.
Made the total cost visible before confirmation
In the prototype, the total cost only appeared on the confirmation screen. In the final design, “You’ll send $143.94” is shown in real time before the user confirms.
Replaced top-tab navigation with a left sidebar
The prototype used horizontal tabs that compressed the content area. A fixed left sidebar keeps navigation always visible and follows familiar desktop patterns.
All these changes helped reduce unnecessary user actions, eliminate ambiguity at critical moments, and ensure the design logic is driven by user needs rather than technical constraints.

📈 What changed
Before, after, and why it matters
The original Zerion interface relied on technical terminology, had no onboarding guidance, and split the send flow across multiple disconnected screens.
After the redesign, onboarding takes under a minute and the entire send flow fits on one screen — with all costs visible before confirmation.
This made the product accessible to newcomers without removing the depth that experienced DeFi users rely on.
